Day 335 – 12.06.2016
NZ. South Island.
Golden Bay (Takaka) – Westport
We left Golden Bay without actually having walked up and down the high street, but as it was Sunday and everything was closed, we had decided to move on.
Our journey from Golden Bay to Westport was supposed to take just over 4 hours. Route here. On our way we found the Harwoods Hole at the end of an 11 km long gravel road. Having parked the car we needed to walk another 45 minutes to the hole, which is an over 300m deep drop. Crazy people do some caving there.
This little D-tour costs us nearly three hours, which meant our arrival time got later and later. We stopped in Motueka for some lunch when it was already 2pm.
We left from there at 3pm and finally arrived in Westport at 7 pm. It had rained most of the path. But we saw an amazing sunset.
More adventures tomorrow.
